Serving God Together at Center of Hope

Last year, Center of Hope recorded our highest number of volunteers ever – 3,765. This year, we are on track to increase this by 10%, reaching over 4,000 volunteers. What an amazing God we serve as He continues to bless the Center and its work!

But if you look closely, you will notice many of these wonderful individuals are actually couples serving together. The apostle Paul said, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” (Philippians 2:3-4 NIV).

This Bible passage encourages us to have a servant’s heart and to have an unselfish determination to serve others. Each of these couples have realized that volunteering together can bring a greater sense of peace, contentment, and meaning to their marriage. Some couples choose to serve at the same time in the same program, while others branch out and find their own unique path. No matter how they serve, they all have embraced God’s call and are being the Lord’s witnesses by giving, encouraging, caring, and loving just like Jesus.
