Stepping Out of the Shadows

In 2019, Ginger found herself without a home, often sleeping in open fields as she struggled to survive each day. Survival was her daily struggle, and addiction had taken hold of her life. At first, Ginger came to Center of Hope for a meal and a break from the Texas heat. But what she found was something far greater—a community that cared for her and believed God could make big changes in her life. Volunteers and staff took the time to know her story, to listen, and to encourage her toward a new path.
With Center of Hope’s support, Ginger made the courageous decision to enter a treatment program for addiction. She completed it, returning to Center of Hope not just for meals but for something deeper—guidance, education, and life coaching. Her life coach, Joel, became a source of spiritual encouragement, helping her rediscover her worth and purpose.
Today, Ginger lives in an apartment. She is drug-free, grateful, and filled with hope for the future. Though she still faces challenges, including medical struggles, Center of Hope continues to walk alongside her, ensuring she gets the help she needs.
