Planned Giving

At Center of Hope, we believe in the power of community and the impact that generosity can have on the lives of those in need. Your support enables us to provide essential services, offering hope and practical assistance to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. Explore the ways you can give and be a part of the transformation.

One way to help ensure our mission continues for many years is by leaving money to Parker County Center of Hope in your will or trust. You can designate a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or a particular asset, helping us continue to transform lives for generations.
A bequest is also flexible. It may be modified throughout your lifetime, allowing you to provide for both family and the causes near to your heart, in the exact way you would prefer, even if that way changes over time.

In as little as one sentence, you can create a gift to Parker County Center of Hope. Your sentence could be as easy as:
“I give to Parker County Center of Hope, a nonprofit corporation currently located at 1318 Clear Lake Rd, Weatherford, TX 76086, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”

You will also need our Federal Tax ID number: 75-276-2501.

While many individuals choose to support Parker County Center of Hope through a gift in their will or estate plan, others prefer the flexibility of a gift via beneficiary designation.

The following assets all have the ability to be designated, and you may choose the exact percentage you wish Parker County Center of Hope to receive:

  • IRAs and retirement plans
  • Life insurance policies
  • Donor-advised funds
  • Commercial annuities

A charitable gift annuity (CGA) is a unique way to support Parker County Center of Hope while simultaneously creating income you can rely on in your retirement years.
Through a CGA, you make a gift to Parker County Center of Hope. From that gift, we create dependable fixed income for you (and someone else, if you choose) for life. After your passing, the balance remaining will enable Parker County Center of Hope to continue its mission.

In addition to both providing for yourself and creating your legacy, a CGA can also qualify you for a variety of tax benefits depending on how you fund your gift.
If you fund your gift annuity with cash or appreciated property, you qualify for a federal income tax deduction if you itemize. In addition, you can minimize capital gains taxes when you fund your gift with appreciated property.

And now, you can fund your gift using your IRA assets. If you are 70½ and older, you can make a one-time election of up to $53,000 to fund a gift annuity. While your gift does not qualify for an income tax deduction, it does escape income tax liability on the transfer and count toward all or part of your required minimum distributions.

If you have built a sizable estate and also are looking for ways to receive reliable payments, consider a charitable remainder trust. This type of trust provides you or other named individuals income each year for life or a period not exceeding 20 years from assets you give to the trust you create. At the end of the trust term, the balance in the trust goes to Parker County Center of Hope.

These types of gifts may offer you tax benefits and the option for income. There are two ways to receive payments and each has its own benefits:

The annuity trust pays you, each year, the same dollar amount you choose at the start. Your payments stay the same, regardless of fluctuations in trust investments.
The unitrust pays you, each year, a variable amount based on a fixed percentage of the fair market value of the trust assets. The amount of your payments is redetermined annually. If the value of the trust increases, so do your payments. If the value decreases, however, so will your payments.
