God’s Hand is in the Details

God’s Hand is in the Details

Before coming to Center of Hope, Renee was going through one of the hardest seasons of her life. She was experiencing homelessness, living in a hotel, and struggling to find food. When she reached out for help, she was connected with a life coach, Beth, who introduced her to the CALM class. “I was excited to work on myself,” Renee shared. “What I loved most was the class was Christ-centered. If you can align yourself with Him, you can let go of so much of your anxiety.”

Two years sober, Renee is rebuilding her life one step at a time. She has found a home to live and says, “God has truly moved me to a better place.” Through the CALM class, Renee learned to reframe her thoughts with God’s truth instead of her own fears. “I realized God is with you through every life event,” she said. “Taking your thoughts captive—writing them down and thinking through them—has changed how I react.”

Renee admits she knew of God but didn’t walk with Him until she joined Alcoholics Anonymous. “I used to only call on God when I needed help,” she said. “Now I know He wants to be part of every moment.”

Renee’s advice to those that have walked similar journeys is, “God is a God of details—He cares about even the small things going on in your life.”
